Winter Rides

Our winter rides are a one-week programme including 5 days riding and one day with visits to some of the cultural highlights of the area. The Carpathians will not remain unaffected by climate change either, but so far, the time between mid-January and mid-February is still quite safe regarding snow cover and a ride in powder snow will be an unforgettable experience!

We ride before and after lunch for two to three hours each over snow-covered meadows, hills, and through the surrounding forests. It is very likely to cross the tracks of red deer, wild boar, lynx and wolves and if we are lucky we might even spot one of those creatures.

It feels like heaven on earth, when the galloping horses raise clouds of snow-dust into the crisp air and you realise that the horses enjoy it at least as much as we do! There will be plenty of time in the evenings to relax in front of the fireplace and to taste a selection of Romanian wines and brandies.

One day we will learn about the history of Transylvania: we will drive to Bran Castle, the legendary Dracula Castle (that actually has nothing to do with Dracula), and further on to the city of Brasov, over centuries the cultural centre of the Transylvanian Saxons.

We will visit the famous Black Church and the medieval old town and there will be sufficient time to stroll the pedestrian zone.

We are riding in groups of up to six people.
