Bran
We are located 28 km from the village of Bran, where you can visit one of Romania’s famous tourist attractions, Bran Castle. The true story of the castle, however, is much more interesting as the Dracula story told to tourists. The drive is 40 mins from here, a light afternoon programme.
Viscri
Viscri is a settlement of the German minority, founded 900 years ago. Prince Charles, who has been on several visits, is a great admirer of the village.
Both the village itself and its fortified church are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Viscri is located 70kms from us, about 1.5 hour drive, worth visiting because of its unique atmosphere.
Sighisoara
If you would like to visit Europe’s only inhabited Citadel, Sighisoara is your destination. It is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved medieval towns in Europe, designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Don’t miss the famous Clock Tower, count the stairs of the covered stairs going up to the church and the school of Sighisoara. A little bit over 2 hours’ drive from the farm, we recommend it for a full cultural day experience.
Brasov
Brasov is an hour drive from the farm. If you take a walk in the old town, you can visit the famous Black Church, the largest gothic church in Romania. The Town Hall Square is a common meeting point of the people in Brasov; you can enjoy a nice coffee and cake to take a short break.
Piatra Craiului
Not just for an easy hike, but also for the extreme climbers, Piatra Craului is a must see. In this National Park you can find the spectacular gorge, take a walk and snap some breathtaking pictures to make everyone jealous at home. Piatra Craiului National Park is only 30-40 mins drive from us and is home to several species of spider, butterflies, reptiles, birds and of course wolves, bears and lynx.
Cobor
The 500 ha organic farm in Cobor, owned by Fundatia Conservation Carpathia, is not just a station of our trail rides, but home for several of our retired or recovering horses, and horses from Bucharest and other cities who can enjoy the endless pastures and stress free life. We recommend a visit especially if you are interested in the conservation project.
